Dragana Mutavdžić Pavlović was born on June 24, 1976 in Osijek, where she graduated on the Ruđer Bošković School of Technology in 1995. In the same year, she entered the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology (FCET), where in 1998 she received the Rector's Award for the best written student paper Corrosion tests of biomaterials, which she made at the Department of Electrochemistry under the supervision of prof. Mirjana Metikoš-Huković. In September 2000, she defended her diploma thesis Isolation of strontium from complex matrices by chromatographic methods under the supervision of Prof. Štefice Cerjan-Stefanović. In November of the same year, she was employed as a scientific novice in the Department of Analytical Chemistry at FCET and enrolled in the postgraduate doctoral programme in Engineering Chemistry. She defended her master's thesis Preparation of a chromatographic sample of pesticides by solid phase extraction in February 2004 and her doctoral thesis Modern methods of sample preparation for chromatographic analysis of "new" pollutants in the environment in March 2007. Both theses were written under the supervision of Prof. Marija Kaštelan-Macan. After defending her dissertation in 2007, she became a Research Associate, in 2008 she was appointed Assistant Professor (after which she participated in teaching courses and taught several courses in the field of analytical chemistry), in 2013 to Associate Professor (March 19, 2013), in 2018 to Full Professor (June 12, 2018), and in 2023 to the Full Professor with tenure (October 10, 2023). She is happy to transfer the knowledge she has acquired to students and introduce them to scientific and research work, which has resulted in the supervision of 3 student papers that have been awarded the Rector's Award and 6 student papers awarded the Dean's Award. She was the supervisor of 36 bachelor theses, 24 diploma theses and 6 dissertations.

Dragana Mutavdžić Pavlović's scientific interest is environmental analytical chemistry with a focus on separation techniques in chemical analysis, especially solid phase extraction (SPE) and solid phase dispersion (MSPD) in sample preparation and isolation of analytes, as well as chromatographic separation methods with an emphasis to liquid chromatography (thin-layer chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography). During her work to date, she has published 3 chapters in scientific books, 2 chapters in the university textbook Environmental Analytics, 58 scientific papers indexed in journal represented in WoSCC and Scopus databases, 14 papers in peer-reviewed books with contributions mainly from international conferences and 3 non-peer-reviewed papers at international meetings. She actively participated in more then 60 scientific meetings (international and domestic) with more then 65 poster presentations and 7 oral presentations.
